Nigerians, India celebrates Int’l Yoga Day in Lagos

No fewer that 500 Nigerians including Indian gathered together in Lagos to mark this year’s International Yoga day celebration. This happens to be the 4th International Yoga day celebration since it’s inception on 11th December 2014 by the United Nations. Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. According to him, “The word YOGA derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. Speaking at the celebration in Lagos, President Indian Cultural Association, ICA, Sanjay Jain, said: “We encourage our Nigerian brothers and sisters so as our Indian brothers and sisters to adopt yoga in their daily life.” He stated that, “Yoga is a holistic approach that is valuable to our health and our wellbeing.
